Accident – Death – Obituary News : An extensive standoff between Riverside County deputies and a man barricaded inside a Temecula residence concluded peacefully on Wednesday, resulting in the suspect being taken into custody. The incident unfolded around 4 p.m. on Wednesday evening, when deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of Huron Street, just west of Pechanga Parkway, to serve the suspect with warrants related to a stolen property case, as per a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon their arrival, deputies made announcements at the front of the property, leading to the voluntary exit and detention of four individuals. However, the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Rogelio Ochoa, refused to comply and remained inside the residence. Subsequently, SWAT personnel were summoned to the scene, positioning themselves around the home while a crisis negotiator attempted to establish communication with Ochoa in a bid for his peaceful surrender.

During the standoff, a two-block section of Pechanga Parkway was closed by deputies to ensure the safety of the area. Following seven hours of negotiation, Ochoa emerged from the house unarmed and surrendered without further incident. Deputies did not report any weapons being seized from the property, and thankfully, no injuries were sustained during the course of the standoff.
