Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Tragic news struck the small town of Voluntown as a married couple was discovered dead in their home on Hell Hollow Road. Connecticut State Police confirmed that the couple’s deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.
The incident came to light when authorities received a distressing 911 call from the residence, where a woman could be heard saying she was “sorry” before abruptly ending the call. Upon arriving at the scene, troopers found the lifeless bodies of the couple, identified as 69-year-old Michael Zannini and 65-year-old Jacqueline Zannini.
Investigation and Autopsy Results
State police conducted a thorough investigation, which revealed that Michael Zannini had succumbed to gunshot wounds, leading to his death being classified as a homicide. Conversely, Jacqueline Zannini’s cause of death was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, marking it as a suicide.
Upon initial response, troopers found Michael Zannini deceased in the driveway. Their attempts to make contact with anyone inside the home proved futile, prompting them to deploy a drone, which eventually located Jacqueline Zannini unresponsive inside the residence.
Ongoing Investigation
The firearm believed to be involved in the tragic incident has been confiscated by authorities for further examination. State police detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad are currently leading the investigation to uncover more details surrounding the circumstances of the murder-suicide.
