ATLANTA – A 14-year-old boy has voluntarily surrendered himself to authorities following a shooting that took place in southwest Atlanta on Thursday evening, according to officials.
Reports from investigators indicate that the shooting occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. at The Park at Castleton Apartments located on the 1900 block of Bent Creek Way SW.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a male individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The injured individual was promptly transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, authorities have refrained from disclosing the current condition of the victim or revealing his identity.
Following a thorough search of the crime scene, police recovered a firearm which has since been processed as evidence.
Subsequent to the incident, the suspect in question, identified as a 14-year-old, presented himself at the APD Public Safety Headquarters. The teenager, whose identity remains undisclosed, is presently under police custody.
