A 28-year-old man from North Tonawanda, John A. Rudes, has been arraigned on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that occurred last September in Buffalo, New York.

Details of the Incident

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Buffalo Police responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1000 block of Kenmore Avenue on September 17, 2023. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the victim, identified as Terry Jackson, 59, on the front steps of an apartment building. Tragically, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Accusations Against Rudes

Investigators allege that Rudes intentionally caused Jackson’s death by stabbing him multiple times in the neck. The motive behind the attack has not been disclosed by authorities.

Legal Proceedings and Potential Sentence

John A. Rudes is set to appear in court for a pre-trial conference on July 15. He is currently being held without bail. If convicted of Murder in the Second Degree, Rudes could face a sentence of up to 25 years to life in prison.
