The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana has recently announced that a man and a woman are facing charges of child abuse following a thorough investigation into serious allegations of abuse at a residence in Newburgh.
The investigation, which began in May, revealed that Thomas Burch and Nina Shepherd were identified as the individuals accused of mistreating children under Shepherd’s care as a foster parent. In addition to child abuse, the pair are also facing allegations of confinement related to the reported incidents.
Upon learning of the abuse allegations, authorities swiftly removed all children from the home to ensure their safety. Subsequently, arrest warrants were issued for Burch and Shepherd, leading to their apprehension and subsequent booking at the Warrick County Jail on Thursday, June 20.
Charges and Bond Information
Thomas Burch is currently facing three counts of criminal confinement and is being held on a bond set at £1,000. Meanwhile, Nina Shepherd is charged with three counts of domestic battery and neglect of a dependent, with her bond set at £750.
