Authorities stated that evidence at the scene indicated that a pedestrian, identified as a 54-year-old woman, was crossing from the west to the east side of Boulder Highway outside a marked or implied crosswalk. An unknown vehicle traveling north on Boulder Highway towards Mayorga Street struck the pedestrian as she entered onto the northbound travel lanes at Mayorga Street.
Tragically, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene pronounced the pedestrian dead on site. This incident marks the 78th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction for the year 2024.
