Justin Clontz : SpaceX: Mysterious Objects in NC Mountains Linked to Spacecraft

Haywood County, North Carolina has a mystery on its hands. Two strange objects appear to have fallen from the sky.

CANTON, N.C. (WTVD) — Two mysterious objects discovered 40 miles apart in the North Carolina mountains have been positively identified as components from a SpaceX spacecraft.

As reported by ABC affiliate WLOS, a statement from NASA Public Affairs has officially confirmed the origin of these mysterious objects.

Both objects were discovered towards the end of May. They exhibit a black hue with what appears to be carbon fiber weaving and burnt titanium.

Justin Clontz, a grounds maintenance worker at The Glamping Collective, stumbled upon the first object. Standing at approximately 3 feet tall, the object was too heavy to be carried by hand. Clontz had to employ a lawn mower to transport it off the trail.

The second object was discovered by Mike Wooten in his yard. Wooten reported hearing a distinct thud on the roof of his house, prompting him to investigate and find the object in his yard.

NASA officials have advised the public not to handle or retrieve any space debris they may come across. Instead, individuals are urged to contact the SpaceX Debris Hotline at 1-866-623-0234.
