In a shocking turn of events, a teenager was apprehended on Thursday after he allegedly drove a stolen car recklessly through the streets of Nashville, ultimately crashing into a house. The incident unfolded around 1:40 p.m. when the Metro police helicopter spotted a 2016 black Dodge Charger that had been reported stolen earlier in the week.
Reports indicate that the Charger was seen speeding, driving against traffic, and performing dangerous maneuvers such as “burnouts” in the middle of an intersection. The Metro police helicopter continued to track the vehicle until it lost control at the intersection of 16th Avenue North and Cockrill Street, colliding with a Toyota Corolla, a fence, and a residential property.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Marcus Stanton, attempted to flee the scene following the crash but was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement officers. Stanton was later booked into the Metro jail on multiple charges, including three counts of theft valued at over £10,000 but less than £60,000, evading arrest, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, possession of burglary tools, and leaving the scene of an accident.
After appearing in court, Stanton’s bond was set at £85,450. Despite the hefty amount, he has since been released from custody.
