Authorities in Olean have reported that a local man, identified as Donnell Parrish, 35, residing at 313 S. Fifth St., has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred earlier this month in East Olean.

The Olean Police Department stated that Parrish was taken into custody at 11 a.m. on Thursday and has been charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both of which are classified as class D felonies. The charges relate to an incident that took place on June 8 along the 100 block of King Street, where witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Law enforcement officials have indicated that their investigation is still ongoing, with efforts being made to locate another individual believed to be involved in the incident.

Following his arrest, Parrish was released with an appearance ticket.

Olean Police Department Updates

  • Wednesday, 8:51 p.m. – Cody J. Mitchell, aged 32 and with no fixed address, was apprehended on a U.S. District Court warrant and is being held for transfer to U.S. Marshals.
  • Thursday, 2:24 p.m. – Richard A. Tucker, 61, from Buffalo, was arrested on a Superior Court warrant issued by Cattaraugus County Court. The warrant pertains to charges of fifth-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. Tucker was taken into custody for allegedly selling methamphetamine to undercover officers of the Olean Police Department Street Crimes Unit. He is currently being held at Cattaraugus County Jail.
  • Thursday, 3:14 p.m. – Frederick Eugene Fuller, 60, of 2724 Route 16, was arrested on a bench warrant from Olean City Court for various charges including criminal possession of stolen property and criminal tampering. Fuller was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail for further legal proceedings.

  • Wednesday – Keighle J. Cole, 34, of Wellsville, was charged with petit larceny following an incident on Pine Street. Cole was released after receiving an appearance ticket.

  • Wednesday, 7:48 p.m. – Randy R. Abel, 35, from Cuba, faces a felony charge for failing to report his address change as a registered sex offender. Abel was released with an appearance ticket.

  • PERRYSBURG – A 17-year-old resident of Forestville was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and arson following an incident in April. The suspect was released with an appearance ticket.
  • RUSHFORD – A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Route 243 and Buffalo Street involving Cynthia Anne France and Donald Allan Carnahan. One injury was reported.
  • ALLEGANY – Two 13-year-old individuals from Olean were charged with petit larceny and released to third parties.
  • RUSHFORD – Nathan W. Webster, 42, of Centerville, was charged with driving while intoxicated and released with an appearance ticket.

  • GENESEE, Pa. – A single-vehicle accident was reported on Kinney Road near Corcoran Road involving Kyle J. Podjed from Lebanon, Pa. One serious injury was reported.
