Authorities in St. Johns County, Fla., are currently investigating a tragic incident that has left a fire rescue lieutenant and his wife dead in an apparent murder-suicide. The couple, identified as St. Johns County Fire Rescue Lieutenant Shawn Yarbrough, 46, and his wife, financial advisor Andrea Nicole Nahrup Yarbrough, 34, were found deceased in the bathroom of their home in the Entrada subdivision of St. Augustine on Thursday, June 13.

Details of the Incident

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 9:20 p.m. on the fateful day and upon arrival, discovered the bodies of the Yarbroughs in their home. Autopsies later revealed that both individuals had succumbed to gunshot wounds, with Andrea’s death being classified as a homicide and Shawn’s as a suicide by the sheriff’s office.

It was reported that Andrea’s mother, Deborah Churchill, raised concerns after not hearing from her daughter and son-in-law for an extended period. Following a welfare check request, authorities made the grim discovery at the couple’s residence.
