HARTINGTON, Neb. (KTIV) – The Nebraska State Patrol is actively seeking a man who evaded both Nebraska and South Dakota law enforcement on Wednesday, June 19.

According to NSP, the South Dakota Highway Patrol alerted them around 4:15 p.m. that they were in pursuit of a motorcycle heading towards Nebraska. The rider, identified as 47-year-old Jason Sitzman from Yankton, South Dakota, had an outstanding Iowa warrant for his arrest. The warrant was related to a parole violation and stemmed from a charge of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

After crossing into Nebraska, South Dakota troopers terminated the chase. However, later in the day, NSP received information that Sitzman was spotted at the Chalkrock Wildlife Management Area in northern Cedar County, Nebraska. A thorough search of the area, involving drones and a helicopter, led to the discovery of the motorcycle, but Sitzman remains at large.

If you have any information regarding Jason Sitzman’s whereabouts, please contact NSP on (402) 370-3456. Authorities have assured the public that there is no immediate danger posed by Sitzman.
