Tragic Discovery in Lake Michigan
CHICAGO (WLS) — A somber discovery was made in Lake Michigan on Wednesday evening, as the body of a man was retrieved from the waters of the popular “Playpen” area. The individual has since been identified as Tony Jackson, a 58-year-old boater who had been reported missing over the weekend.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Jackson’s cause of death was drowning, ruling it as accidental. The tragic incident occurred in the 600 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive, where Jackson’s lifeless body was discovered and pronounced dead at the scene.

The search for Jackson began on Saturday afternoon after he fell into Lake Michigan at the “Playpen” and failed to resurface. Despite extensive efforts over the weekend, including searches conducted on Saturday and Sunday, Jackson remained unaccounted for until his tragic discovery on Wednesday.
