The Houston Police Department has released surveillance images of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of a man and a woman on June 2.

The individual in question is described as a black male with a goatee and possibly a beard, carrying a small dark bag or fanny pack. Authorities believe he may hold valuable information crucial to the ongoing investigation.

The victims have been identified as Richard Nugent, aged 38, and RJ Lewis, aged 66. Police officers responded to a call at 699 Franklin Street at approximately 6:35 p.m. following reports of a deceased person. Upon arrival, they discovered Nugent, who had been shot, lying on the sidewalk near Buffalo Bayou Trail. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

While conducting a search for witnesses, officers also came across Lewis, who had been shot and was unresponsive on a stairwell leading to the intersection of Congress and Smith Streets from the trail. She too was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Initially, the authorities had no leads on the motive or a suspect. However, further investigation has led them to identify a man as a person of interest in the case.
