A 16-year-old teenager has been taken into custody and charged in relation to a tragic triple shooting incident that occurred in Upper Manhattan over the weekend, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, as confirmed by the police.

The teenager is facing charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to law enforcement officials. Due to being under the age of 18, the identity of the teenager has been withheld.

The incident took place on the night of June 16, around 11:41 p.m., near West 207 Street and 10th Avenue in the Inwood area. Upon receiving reports of gunshots, police officers rushed to the scene to find three victims: a 44-year-old man who had been shot in the face, a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest, and a 37-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.

Tragically, the 44-year-old victim, identified as Michael James, was pronounced dead at NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem. The 40-year-old victim, Alejandro Ramirez, was taken to New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where he also succumbed to his injuries.

However, there is a glimmer of hope as the 37-year-old victim remains in stable condition at NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, according to the police.
