MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – A Minot resident, identified as 21-year-old Matthew Richards, has been taken into custody following an incident where he allegedly threatened neighbours and law enforcement officials with a firearm on Tuesday.
According to Minot Police, officers were summoned to a residence after receiving reports that Richards had brandished a gun at his neighbours. Upon arriving at Richards’ home, the officers confronted him, prompting him to flee the scene.
During the pursuit, Richards reportedly drew a weapon and made threats against the officers. Despite this, the officers managed to subdue Richards, disarm him, and place him under arrest.
Richards now faces multiple charges, including felony terrorizing, felony preventing arrest, misdemeanor refusal to comply with authorities, providing false information to law enforcement, and illegal possession of a firearm.
