Accident – Death – Obituary News : Dover, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman who was riding on the back of a motorcycle had to be airlifted to a hospital after she fell off the vehicle on a southeast Minnesota freeway. The incident took place in eastern Olmsted County around 12:15 on Wednesday afternoon. According to the State Patrol, the motorcycle involved was a three-wheel Can-Am.
The woman fell off the motorcycle when the operator lost control of the vehicle while traveling west on Interstate 90, approximately a mile east of the Dover exit, as stated in the state crash report. The passenger was identified as 56-year-old Angela Elizabeth Gierok from Whitehall, WI. She was flown by Mayo 1 to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of injuries that are said to be non-life-threatening. Fortunately, the driver of the motorcycle, 58-year-old James E Gierok, was unharmed in the accident.
Both occupants of the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, and alcohol was ruled out as a factor. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene of the accident to assist with the investigation.
