Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Boone County resident has been taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor. Jacob Tapprich, aged 31, was arrested following reports of a violent altercation at a residence in Harrison.

The incident, which took place on March 29, saw officers from the Harrison Police Department responding to a call regarding a possible assault. Upon their arrival, Tapprich informed them that a verbal argument with his girlfriend had escalated over allegations of stolen makeup. He claimed that his girlfriend became so enraged that she picked up an elephant lamp and smashed it on the floor. Tapprich stated that she then followed him into the bathroom, where she proceeded to choke him and bite his ear during the altercation. He provided authorities with a video recording of the incident as evidence.

The situation further escalated on the evening of March 30 when deputies received a call from the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center regarding a domestic dispute from the previous night. Tapprich’s girlfriend, the victim in this case, had sustained multiple injuries including cuts, bruises, and marks. She alleged that Tapprich had physically assaulted her, choked her, and even rammed her car with his vehicle while her two children were present.

According to the victim’s statement, the argument began when Tapprich accused her of stealing makeup from a local Walmart. Despite presenting a receipt to prove her innocence, Tapprich refused to believe her and insisted that she accompany him to the bedroom. Due to past incidents of abuse, the victim was wary of the situation and refused to comply. Tapprich then allegedly forcibly dragged her towards the bedroom, where he proceeded to choke her. The victim claimed to have been hit in the face and subsequently blacked out during the altercation. Upon regaining consciousness, she managed to escape from Tapprich’s grasp.

The victim detailed how Tapprich had cornered her in the bedroom, throwing objects at her and physically restraining her. She recounted how he had thrown an elephant lamp at her, causing injury to her back. Tapprich allegedly prevented her from leaving the room, physically assaulting her and restricting her movements. The victim also mentioned that Tapprich’s parents had assisted her in packing her belongings after the incident, as they acknowledged Tapprich’s violent behaviour.

Furthermore, the victim reported that Tapprich had broken the key off in her car’s ignition switch and subsequently rammed his truck into her vehicle while she and her children were inside. This act of aggression caused damage to both vehicles and the neighbour’s driveway. Fearing for her safety and that of her children, the victim decided to leave the scene.

Jacob Tapprich was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the Boone County Detention Center. He faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault on a family or household member and endangering the welfare of a minor. Tapprich was released on a $10,000 bond but has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing domestic violence and ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals involved. The authorities are taking the necessary steps to hold Tapprich accountable for his actions and provide support to the victim and her children during this challenging time..
