Following the tragic events that unfolded in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim as 30-year-old Tory Dunn from Surrey. The victim was discovered with life-threatening injuries inside a residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street in Surrey on June 16 at approximately 10 p.m.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Tory Dunn succumbed to her injuries. IHIT has taken charge of the investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
Collaborating with the Surrey RCMP, the BC Coroners Service, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), IHIT is leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice. The neighbourhood is being canvassed for witnesses and video surveillance to shed light on the events leading up to the tragic incident.
IHIT Staff-Sgt. David Lee expressed, “Our thoughts are with Tory’s family and the community during this difficult time. We are dedicated to uncovering the truth behind this senseless act and bringing those responsible to justice.”
Tori Dunn, known for her dedication to Dunn Right Landscaping Services, was a former student at Sullivan Heights Secondary in Surrey and pursued Psychiatric Nursing at Douglas College.
Her father, Aron Dunn, shared a heartfelt message on his Facebook page, inviting loved ones to a vigil in her honor at Surrey Bend Regional Park on Saturday, June 22nd. The community is encouraged to join in commemorating her life and releasing balloons in her memory.
As the investigation progresses, updates on a memorial service will be shared with those touched by Tori’s presence. The funeral service is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 26 at Valley View Funeral Home in Surrey.
