In a shocking turn of events, horrifying new details have emerged in the murder investigation of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was found strangled in a creek just hours after sneaking out of her home in Houston, Texas.

Jocelyn’s mother last saw her going to bed on Sunday night, but the young girl then left her home sometime after 10 pm. It is believed that she made her way to a local convenience store, where she encountered two unidentified male suspects.

Tragically, Jocelyn called her 13-year-old boyfriend from the convenience store around midnight. He later reported hearing her speaking with two adults, according to Houston Mayor John Whitmire.

The mayor promised that a report would be issued shortly, revealing the horrific circumstances of the case. It was later disclosed that Jocelyn was raped before being found dead in the creek.

Jocelyn’s mother, Alexis Nungary, is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. She expressed disbelief and pain, stating, “It’s like it’s not real. I keep hearing everything, and everybody tell me everything, and I hear it and it’s not registering.”

Alexis recalled her last interaction with her daughter, reminding her not to stay up too late as she was joining her at work the next day. However, by 6 am the following morning, Jocelyn was nowhere to be found.

Frantic with worry, Alexis searched the house and the surrounding areas before pinging Jocelyn’s cellphone, which led to the discovery of her body in the creek.

Billie Jackson, a passerby, found Jocelyn’s body while driving home from dropping her husband off at work. She described the harrowing moment of realization, saying, “I looked up the creek, I thought it was a mannequin. I did a U-turn, and I stopped on the bridge, put my flashers on, looked down and realized it was someone. I parked right here and called 911.”

Describing Jocelyn as a smart and loving child, family members shared fond memories of her. Her uncle, Joamel, remembered her as a bright presence who brought joy to those around her.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support Jocelyn’s family in covering funeral expenses, with an outpouring of support from the community.

As the investigation unfolds, the Houston community mourns the tragic loss of a young life, and hopes for justice to be served in Jocelyn’s memory.
