WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A tragic shooting incident occurred in Winston-Salem on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another injured, according to local authorities.
The incident took place just after 11 p.m. on Edgeware Road, where law enforcement officers responded to reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. The victims have been identified as 61-year-old Rex Dion Payne and 62-year-old Travis Anthony Leslie.
Regrettably, Payne succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Leslie was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
The investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing, with authorities working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
