Ahliana Dickey

A teenager from Massachusetts, USA was tragically shot and killed just before her middle school graduation. Ahliana Dickey, a 15-year-old girl, was found dead from gunshot wounds in her home in Lowell on the evening of Friday, June 14, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

Dickey was expected to attend her graduation ceremony later that day, but when she did not show up, her family became concerned and went to her home to look for her. It was then that they made the heartbreaking discovery.

The teen’s grandmother called the police to report the tragic incident around 6:10 p.m. When authorities arrived at the scene, they learned that Dickey had been in an abusive relationship with a 21-year-old man named Trevor Bady.

Earlier that evening, a neighbor had reported hearing a loud argument followed by gunshots coming from Dickey’s home. Surveillance footage also captured Dickey yelling for help before a male suspect, later identified as Bady, left the premises.

Further investigation revealed that Bady had taken an Uber to and from Dickey’s home before and after the shooting. He was subsequently arrested in Peabody on Monday, June 17, and charged with murder, armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, and other offenses.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Dickey had confided in someone that Bady had threatened to kill her and her grandmother just two days before her tragic death.

Scott Dickey, Ahliana’s father, expressed his grief on Facebook, stating, “My worst fear has happened. Losing a child, I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone.”

Bady is currently held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on July 30.
