CHICAGO—A tragic incident unfolded in the Fuller Park neighborhood early Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a 53-year-old man and injuries to two others following a shooting inside a residence.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. at a property located in the 4700 block of South Princeton Avenue. Chicago police were alerted to the sound of gunshots within the residence, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officers.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered multiple individuals who had been struck by gunfire. The 53-year-old victim, later identified as Maurice O.Hall by the Medical Examiner’s Office, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Another individual, a 60-year-old man, was also found with a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to the University of Chicago in stable condition. The third victim, a 37-year-old man, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was in critical condition upon arrival at Stroger Hospital.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that an altercation occurred prior to the shooting, during which two male suspects brandished firearms and opened fire on the victims before fleeing the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and Area 1 detectives are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.
