Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a shocking turn of events, a 52-year-old man from Middletown, Ohio, has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer during a road rage incident. Dennis Meade, the accused, was found in possession of various items related to law enforcement, including a light bar, handcuffs, a New York Police Department patch, zip ties, and more, according to a report by the Springboro police.

Meade is now facing a charge of impersonating an officer, a first-degree misdemeanor, as per the Miamisburg Municipal Court. His arraignment is scheduled for June 26.

The incident unfolded around 5:40 p.m. on a Saturday when a witness reported to 911 dispatchers that a white Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Meade, attempted to force another vehicle off the road. The Tahoe was last spotted heading east on state Route 73 near the Franklin Walmart.

Springboro police, while monitoring traffic near West Central Avenue and Sharts Road, spotted a white Tahoe resembling the suspect vehicle. They initiated a traffic stop in the Kroger parking lot.

Upon inspection, the officer noticed several indicators that suggested Meade might be a retired law enforcement officer. However, when questioned, Meade denied any association with law enforcement.

Further examination of the Tahoe revealed a plethora of law enforcement-related items, including handcuffs, a spotlight with handcuffs hanging on it, a light toggle box, and a loaded pistol in Meade’s possession.

The officer also discovered multiple flashing lights and a light bar in the Tahoe, as well as strobe lights, taillights, and other lighting equipment.

Subsequently, the victim of the road rage incident arrived at the scene and recounted how Meade had aggressively tried to pull over their vehicle by activating his overhead lights on the highway.

During a search of the Tahoe, police uncovered more incriminating evidence, such as additional handcuffs, a flashlight, radio, dash camera, traffic control equipment, and even a New York Police Department patch.

It was revealed that Meade had a history of impersonating a police officer in California and had faced charges related to fake government identification and possession of burglary tools.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Dayton Post has taken over the investigation, and Meade has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail for impersonating an officer.

As of Monday afternoon, Meade was no longer in custody at the Miami Valley Jails website.
