COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia deputies have apprehended three individuals suspected of running a baby formula theft operation that resulted in approximately $5,000 worth of formula being stolen.

According to investigators, the group targeted several grocery stores in the area. The arrests came after Columbia County deputies received reports of shoplifting incidents at Walmart Neighborhood Market on South Belair Road and a nearby Kroger.

The three suspects, identified as 20-year-old Jose Salvador Solis-Hernandez; 22-year-old Dulce Maria Tovar-Sanchez; and 21-year-old Angel Jesus Preza-Gonzalez, were caught in the act of stealing formula from that store as well.

Deputies are in the process of returning the stolen formula to the affected stores, which include Walmart locations in Evans and on Bobby Jones Expressway, Walmart Neighborhood Market on Evans to Locks Road, Walmart Neighborhood Market in Grovetown, Publix at Washington Road and Towne Centre Drive, and Publix on Fury’s Ferry Road.

In total, around $5,000 worth of formula was stolen. All three suspects arrested are Mexican nationals and did not possess any American identification.
