The young woman, identified as Shweta Survase from Chhatarapati Sambhaji Nagar, was filming a reel for social media with her friend when the unfortunate accident occurred.
Reports suggest that the girl, who was not an experienced driver, accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while driving her Toyota Etios in reverse near the edge of the cliff. Despite her friend’s attempts to intervene and stop the car, it continued to reverse and eventually went over the cliff, leading to the tragic outcome.
A Khutabad police station official revealed to news agency PTI, “Survase tried her hand at driving while her friend Shivraj Mule was shooting a video. She accidentally pressed the accelerator while the car was in reverse gear. The vehicle slid back, broke a crash barrier, and plunged into the valley. It took an hour for rescuers to reach her and the vehicle, but she was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.”
