Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man facing court charges for an alleged attempted child abduction has been found to be in breach of a deportation order. Giedrius Gasiunas, a 44-year-old resident of Ballinode, County Monaghan, appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court in relation to the incident near Fermanagh. The child involved reported being approached by two men in a car, with the driver attempting to grab him before becoming aggressive. The child managed to break free and provide a description of the car, leading to the identification of Gasiunas.

Despite denying the charge of attempted abduction, Gasiunas was remanded in custody by Judge Lanan McSorley due to concerns of absconding. The accused claimed he had offered the boy a lift for a fishing trip, explaining the presence of fishing equipment, clothing, bedding, and food in the car. The passenger in the vehicle remains unidentified, with the PSNI continuing their search.

The court proceedings revealed that Gasiunas had failed to comply with a deportation order issued against him, adding another layer of complexity to the case. The incident highlights the importance of vigilance and swift action in cases involving child safety. Gasiunas is set to appear in court again via video link on the 8th of July for further proceedings.

The details of the case have sparked concern and raised questions about the deportation system and its enforcement. The authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals, especially children, in the community. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story..
