A tragic incident unfolded near Kasara as a 17-year-old boy lost his life after falling off a local train on Saturday. The young boy, who had aspirations of joining the navy, was travelling with his mother from Kalwa to their native village when the unfortunate accident occurred.
The mother, still in a state of shock, has been unable to provide detailed information about the events leading up to the incident. Authorities from the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Kalyan are actively seeking more eyewitnesses to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the boy’s untimely demise.
identified as Roshan Rangnath Ide, the deceased was a student in the 10th grade at a school in Kalwa. He and his mother, named Muratbai, were on their way to finalise his college enrolment in a Navy training programme in Kasara on June 15, according to a report by HT.
Tragedy struck around 6 am when Roshan, laden with bags, stood on the footboard near the luggage area while his mother occupied a seat inside the compartment. As he leaned out of the moving train to check for the approaching station, he accidentally hit a pole and fell, sustaining severe injuries.
Promptly informed by fellow passengers, railway police rushed to the scene and immediately took Roshan to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to the Nashik district rural hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Following a complaint lodged by Rangnath Ide, Roshan’s father, police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the boy’s mother remains hospitalised and unable to provide any account of the tragic event.
