A devastating incident occurred in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, where a 23-year-old woman lost her life after her car plunged into a valley while she was filming reels with her friend. The tragic incident took place on a Monday afternoon near the Duttadham temple in the Sulibhanjan area, under the jurisdiction of the Khultabad police station.
The victim, identified as Shweta Survase, a resident of Hanuman Nagar in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, had expressed her desire to try driving the Toyota Etios to her friend, Shivraj Sanjay Mule (25). Shivraj, who was filming a video on his mobile phone, was seated behind the wheel as Shweta took control of the car. Unfortunately, a fatal error occurred when Shweta accidentally pressed the accelerator while the car was in reverse gear, leading to the vehicle rolling back and ultimately falling into the valley.
Footage of the tragic accident has since gone viral on social media platforms. The picturesque surroundings of the Dattadham temple at Sulibhanjan attract numerous tourists and devotees, making it a popular spot for visits. Shweta and her friend had visited the area for a leisurely stroll on that fateful day, capturing moments on their mobile phones through reels.
Authorities have noted that the absence of a protective railing or boundary wall around the temple premises may have contributed to the unfortunate incident. Upon receiving information about the accident, a team led by police inspector Dhananjay Farate from the Khultabad police station promptly arrived at the scene to initiate a rescue operation.
Despite the rescue team’s efforts to extract Shweta from the damaged car and rush her to Khultabad Rural Hospital for medical treatment, doctors declared her as brought dead. The community is mourning the loss of a young life, highlighting the importance of safety precautions and responsible behaviour behind the wheel.
