Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Police have recovered at least 11 firearms from the residence of the suspected “splash pad shooter” in Michigan. The incident occurred at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in north Detroit over the weekend, where nine individuals were injured in a shooting rampage.

Michael William Nash, 42, is believed to be the perpetrator of the attack. He is thought to have opened fire at the splash pad, firing a total of thirty-six rounds before fleeing the scene. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard revealed that Nash brought two handguns to the location, leaving behind a 9mm Glock when he escaped. Tragically, Nash took his own life shortly after the incident.

Authorities suspect that Nash used the remaining gun to end his own life inside his home, where he resided with his mother. His mother was reportedly out of state when the shooting took place.

Several of the victims, including an eight-year-old boy, are currently in critical condition following the attack. Mayor Bryan K. Barnett of the City of Rochester Hills expressed his belief that the response of the community will define them, rather than the tragic incident itself.

Despite having no prior criminal record, Nash’s actions have been described by Bouchard as “very random” and “bizarre.” It is believed that the suspect struggled with mental health issues, as family members reported that he would often carry firearms around the house and expressed paranoia about being monitored by the government.

Critical Condition

As of Monday, two of the individuals wounded in the shooting remain in critical condition. Among them is the eight-year-old boy who miraculously survived being shot in the head. His four-year-old brother sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while their mother was hit in the abdomen and leg during the senseless attack in Rochester Hills.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard expressed the community’s shock and grief, particularly for the family directly affected by the tragedy. “A family of four and three are in the hospital,” he stated, highlighting the devastating impact of the incident.
