A vigilant deputy on traffic duty spotted a loud black motorcycle with luminous neon wheels zoom past at a staggering speed of over 100 mph. Captain Mark McDaniel, the public information officer for the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, recounted how the deputy attempted to pull over the reckless rider around the North Carolina Highway 152 exit.

However, instead of complying with the deputy’s signal to stop, the motorcyclist decided to put the pedal to the metal, reaching speeds of around 130 mph as he swerved in and out of traffic. Eventually, the chase led off the interstate onto Julian Road, where the suspect made a right turn before encountering a major setback – his motorcycle began experiencing engine issues.

Forced to a halt at the intersection of Julian Road and Old Concord Road, the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Chandler Austin King, was swiftly taken into custody without any resistance. King now faces charges of felony flee to elude, misdemeanor aggressive driving, and speeding. Following his arrest, he was remanded to the Rowan County Detention Center and was assigned a $20,000 bond, as per the official reports from the sheriff’s office.
