Accident – Death – Obituary News : The parents of Brian Laundrie have been captured in images for the first time since the FBI unveiled a plethora of records related to their son and girlfriend Gabby Petito’s 2021 murder-suicide. Exclusive photographs obtained by The U.S. Sun depict Christopher and Roberta Laundrie outside their residence in Northport, Florida, on Monday, a week after Gabby Petito’s heartfelt letter to Brian Laundrie was made public.
Christopher, donned in a soft blue checkered shirt, gray cargo shorts, and brown sandals, was seen exiting his red pickup truck as he entered their Northport home. In contrast, Roberta, wearing a striped multi-colored dress, was spotted doing some housework outside their property. The images also show Brian Laundrie’s infamous gray Mustang parked in their driveway.
This is the first time the Laundries have been captured in photos since the FBI released over 350 pages of documents related to Brian and Gabby’s murder-suicide investigation. Among the documents was a letter written by Gabby, 22, to her abusive boyfriend, 23, in the days before she was discovered strangled to death in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park on September 19, 2021.
In the undated letter, Gabby expressed her love for Brian and urged him to stop crying and calling her names. She emphasized that they were a team and pleaded with him to understand her frustrations. The letter also touched on their shared dreams and the love she felt for him.
The context of the letter remains unclear, but other documents released by federal officials included handwritten letters and dark drawings by Brian Laundrie. These writings and drawings depicted various manic episodes he experienced.
Brian’s partial skeletal remains were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Northport on October 20, 2021, nearly a month after he returned home without Gabby. The cause of his death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and a notebook containing a written confession was discovered near his body.
In a true crime convention in Tennessee, Nichole Schmidt, Gabby’s mother, expressed forgiveness towards Brian for killing her daughter but vowed never to forgive the Laundries. She accused Roberta Laundrie of being the mastermind behind the tragic events and called her out for her lack of empathy and remorse.
In February, the families of Gabby and Brian settled their civil lawsuit in court for an undisclosed amount. Schmidt and Joseph Petito, Gabby’s father, accused the Laundries of aiding in their daughter’s murder, referencing Roberta’s infamous “burn after reading” letter she wrote to Brian.
The Laundries, who have not faced criminal charges in connection with Gabby’s disappearance, have argued that the undated note was written before the couple’s cross-country road trip. Gabby’s parents are currently engaged in a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against the Moab Police Department in Utah, alleging failures in responding to the domestic dispute between Gabby and Brian.
