The Lansing Police Department has officially confirmed the identity of the victim in a tragic homicide that took place on Saturday night in the city. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Thomas Blackmon.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 10:19 p.m. on Saturday when reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of MacDougal Circle came in. Upon arrival at the scene, both the Lansing Police Department and Lansing Fire Department discovered Blackmon suffering from a gunshot wound.

Efforts were made by the Lansing Fire Department to provide medical assistance to Blackmon before he was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, Blackmon succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
