Hamilton authorities have recently made a grim discovery, as they were called to a three-storey apartment building at 100 Connaught Avenue on June 15. The call came in just after 1:30 p.m. regarding a deceased male found on the premises.
Following an autopsy, it was confirmed that the victim had been murdered. The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Randy Peardon, a father of three children from Hamilton.
Acting Detective-Sergeant Robert Di Ianni addressed the media, stating that Peardon was a resident of the area but was not living at the apartment where his body was discovered.
Describing Peardon as an “innocent victim,” Di Ianni highlighted the tragic nature of the crime.
Although the cause of Peardon’s death has not been disclosed by investigators, the police have maintained control of the residence pending a search warrant. Officers anticipate remaining at the scene for another day.
Authorities are actively reviewing video evidence and are appealing to the public for any information or additional footage from the area spanning Melrose Avenue South to Gage Avenue along Main Street and Connaught Avenue to Dunsmure Road. Specifically, they are interested in footage captured between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 15.
