On the first day of Eid ul Adha, a day of celebration for Muslims around the world, Karachi witnessed a series of tragic incidents that left five people dead and several others injured. Among the victims were children who lost their lives in separate traffic accidents and electrocution incidents.

Pedestrians Struck by Speeding Vehicle

In the Quaidabad Landhi Majeed Colony Bilawal Town area of Karachi, a speeding unidentified vehicle struck pedestrians, causing injuries to a boy and two young girls. The victims were rushed to Jinnah Hospital by Chhipa ambulance, where the boy, identified as six-year-old Musavir, tragically succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The injured girls, Ayesha and Haleema, are currently receiving medical care. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, prompting the police to impound the van and launch a search for the driver.

Motorcyclist’s Fatal Fall

Another heartbreaking incident occurred on Jinnah Bridge in the Docks police station jurisdiction, where a young motorcyclist, identified as 17-year-old Imtiaz Ali, lost his life after falling from the bridge. Imtiaz, a resident of Baloch Goth, Orangi Town, was on a ride when his motorcycle slipped due to high speed, leading to the fatal fall. The Docks police handled the situation and carried out necessary legal procedures before handing over the body to the family for funeral arrangements.

Tragic Accident Near Tipu Sultan Bridge

In the Ferozeabad police area near Tipu Sultan Bridge on Shaheed-e-Millat Road, a motorcyclist named Abdul Kareem, aged 45, was critically injured in a collision with an unidentified vehicle. Despite efforts to save him, Abdul Kareem succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Jinnah Hospital. Details about his residence are currently under investigation.

Electrocution Tragedy in Joharabad

Tragedy struck in the Joharabad police area near Dastagir Block 15 Gulshan-e-Mustafa, where a seven-year-old child named Arslan was electrocuted at home. The child’s body was promptly transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Edhi ambulance. According to rescue officials, Arslan came into contact with a water pump that led to the fatal electrocution. Police facilitated the handover of the body to the grieving family after completing necessary legal procedures.

Workplace Fatality at Puncture Shop

Additionally, a fatal incident occurred at a puncture shop near Faizan Char Yar Mosque in Rozi Goth, Surjani Town police area, where a man named Adnan, aged 35, lost his life while working. The body of Adnan, son of Deen Muhammad, was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhipa ambulance for further arrangements. The police ensured the completion of legal formalities before handing over the body to the bereaved family.
