LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A tragic incident occurred near Lynden where a man lost his life after being ejected from his vehicle during a crash.
The Washington State Patrol has identified the victim as 32-year-old Cory Lockwood from Omak. According to reports, Lockwood was travelling south on the Guide in the early hours of Sunday, June 16.
As Lockwood approached the roundabout at Wiser Lake Road, he was reportedly driving at a high speed which caused him to lose control of his vehicle, veering off the road.
During the crash, Lockwood was ejected from his car as it collided with a tree and rolled down an embankment. Tragically, medics pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident.
The Washington State Patrol has disclosed that Lockwood was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. They have not yet confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal incident.
