LYNDON, Kan. (WIBW) – A woman was taken into custody in connection with drug possession in the early hours of Sunday following a car stop in Osage County, authorities have confirmed.

The individual arrested has been identified as April M. Mealler, aged 31, hailing from Rossville.

According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, the arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop that occurred at 1:01 a.m. on Sunday on US-56 highway beneath the US-75 highway overpass, located just south of Carbondale.

Sheriff Wells stated that Mealler was pulled over for a traffic violation at the aforementioned location.

During the traffic stop, an Osage County sheriff’s K-9 unit detected the presence of illegal narcotics.

Mealler was then taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail in Lyndon on suspicion of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the matter.
