Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a shocking turn of events, authorities have confirmed that the human remains discovered in the former residence of Brian Giles, a man recently convicted of killing his wife, belong to his missing former girlfriend, Jilly Todaro. The Cambria County Coroner, Jeff Lees, revealed that the remains were identified through advanced forensic techniques, pointing to “homicidal violence” as the cause of death.

The grim discovery was made in the basement of Giles’ former home in Johnstown, just a day after he was found guilty of the murder of his wife, Nancy Giles. Nancy’s remains were found in a shallow grave near a trail on the Inclined Plane hillside in downtown Johnstown in May 2019.

Jilly Todaro, who had been in a relationship with Giles following the disappearance of his wife, went missing in December 2020. District Attorney Greg Neugebauer has indicated that charges related to her death are imminent.

Brian Giles’ defence attorney, Timothy Burns, refrained from commenting on the discovery of the remains prior to their identification. During the trial for Nancy Giles’ murder, Burns had highlighted his client’s mental health struggles and expressed disappointment at the verdict. Brian Giles himself maintained his innocence as he was escorted from the courtroom.

Neugebauer disclosed that the search of Giles’ former residence was prompted by specific information regarding the location of a body. The timely discovery of Jilly Todaro’s remains has bolstered the prosecution’s case significantly.

Relatives of Todaro, who was 43 at the time of her disappearance, expressed gratitude for the closure brought by the discovery. They are now able to begin the healing and grieving process, knowing that Jilly has been found.

Assistant District Attorney Jessica Aurandt lamented that Todaro could not witness the outpouring of support and efforts made to locate her. She remarked, “I wish she could have seen how many people care.”
