A heartbreaking incident occurred on Saturday, June 15, as a 2-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by an RV near Dockweiler State Beach. The young child, identified as Merida Castillo by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, was involved in a devastating accident.
The tragic event took place at 5:47 p.m. in the 12200 block of Vista del Mar, according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department. Reports indicate that Castillo was hit by the RV as it was backing out of a private property. It was later revealed that both Castillo and the driver of the RV were residents of Lancaster and were related.
