On the evening of 14th June 2024, officers in Jamestown successfully apprehended a suspect following a high-speed chase through the city, resulting in the discovery of a significant quantity of illegal drugs.
High-Speed Pursuit Leads to Drug Bust
At around 9:36 p.m., members of the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of Newland Avenue and Myrtle Street. The driver, later identified as 47-year-old Renne L. Wolfe, refused to stop, prompting a pursuit that weaved through the city streets. The chase eventually came to an end in the Town of Ellicott, where Wolfe abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape on foot. Law enforcement officers swiftly captured her without any further incidents.
Drugs Uncovered During Search
Upon searching Wolfe’s vehicle, authorities discovered 18 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of cocaine, a variety of Acetaminophen Hydrocodone Bitartrate pills, Amphetamine Dextroamphetamine pills, a digital scale, and packaging materials. Wolfe, who had an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, now faces a slew of charges. These include Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th degrees, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, Unlawful Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree, Resisting Arrest, and multiple traffic violations.
Suspect in Custody
As of now, Wolfe is being held at the Jamestown City Jail, awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
