Mumbai: A new case has been filed by Mumbai Police in connection with the firing incident that occurred outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in April. According to officials, a man from Rajasthan has been arrested for criminal intimidation.

The accused, identified as Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar (25) from Bundi, Rajasthan, allegedly posted a threatening video on his YouTube channel. In the video, recorded on a highway in Rajasthan, Gujar claimed to be associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and their gang members, stating his intention to harm Salman Khan for not apologising.

Following the seriousness of the threat, a team was sent to Rajasthan, resulting in the arrest of the accused. The case has been registered at a cyber police station in Mumbai. The official mentioned that they are currently investigating Gujar’s criminal background. He faces charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 506(2) (punishment for criminal intimidation), and provisions of the Information Technology Act.

The incident in April involved two individuals on motorcycles firing multiple rounds outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence on April 14. Six individuals were previously arrested in connection with the incident, with one, Anuj Thapan, reportedly committing suicide in police custody on May 1.

In a related case, Navi Mumbai Police arrested five individuals, including a suspected member of the Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs from Haryana, for planning an attack on Salman Khan.

Reports indicated that four gang members had conducted surveillance of Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel, his Bandra neighbourhood, and locations he frequently visited for filming.

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently detained at Sabarmati Central Prison in Ahmedabad for a separate case. Mumbai Police plans to request his custody for their investigation. His brother Anmol, who is believed to be in Canada, has been identified as a wanted suspect in the firing incident.
