A 64-year-old man is currently receiving medical treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after sustaining a gunshot wound to his hand on Friday night.

The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 9:30 pm on Water Street in Georgetown, near Muneshewers Limited. The victim, identified as Joseph Singh, was travelling north on Water Street when he noticed a grey Pitbull minibus displaying ‘Trade Plate’ with two unidentified males inside. One of the individuals in the minibus proceeded to fire multiple rounds towards Singh before the vehicle sped off in a northern direction.

As a result of the attack, Singh suffered a gunshot wound to his hand and was promptly taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Upon inspection of the crime scene, authorities were unable to locate any spent shell casings. Investigations are ongoing, with detectives planning to review surveillance footage from the vicinity to gather more information about the perpetrators.
