Public Safety official Emily Bourne of Pittsburgh stated that a vehicle traveling across the Rachel Carson Bridge was proceeding straight on Ninth Street when it collided with a man riding an electric bike. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the junction with Fort Duquesne Boulevard.
According to Bourne, the cyclist failed to stop at a red light on Fort Duquesne Boulevard before colliding with the side of the vehicle. Additionally, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The injured man was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle and three passengers on board reported no injuries, as confirmed by Bourne.
