Authorities in Odessa, Texas have apprehended two individuals in connection with the tragic shooting death of a local man. The incident took place at approximately 3:39 p.m. in the 1800 block of Newcomb.
Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered blood on the roadway and a trail leading to a nearby house, from which two individuals emerged. The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Brayden Roupp and a 16-year-old white female. Both individuals were taken into custody by the police.
Inside the residence, officers found the lifeless body of a male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Following an initial investigation, it was revealed that the detained suspects were directly involved in the shooting. One of the suspects confessed to the crime, leading to both individuals being charged with Murder in the 1st Degree. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the incident to come forward and contact the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641, citing case number 24-6980. It is believed that there are no additional suspects at large, and the authorities are treating the case as an isolated incident. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
