A 27-year-old man, identified as Christopher Dunlap, was arrested on Thursday by the Sherman Police Department for allegedly exposing himself to a juvenile and sexually assaulting an adult victim.
On June 13, a teenage juvenile reported to the police that an adult male exposed himself in the 4100-block of Towncenter Street. The suspect, Christopher Dunlap, was later located and identified by authorities.
Following this incident, the police also responded to a separate call in the 3100-block of Rex Cruse Drive where an assault was reported. A male suspect, believed to be Dunlap, physically assaulted an adult victim, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Furthermore, the victim was also sexually assaulted during the incident.
Subsequently, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dunlap on charges of aggravated sexual assault in connection to the second incident. Dunlap was apprehended by the Gainesville Police Department and is currently held in the Cooke County Jail. Another arrest warrant was issued for Dunlap for indecency with a child by exposure due to his involvement in the initial incident.
The Sherman Police Department expressed their gratitude towards the Gainesville Police Department for their prompt assistance in locating and apprehending Dunlap. They also commended the efforts of their patrol officers and detectives in handling the case swiftly and efficiently.
