A male suspect has been apprehended by Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) after a series of robberies in east Colorado Springs on Friday, June 14. The suspect, identified as Xavier Slaughter, was involved in multiple incidents where he threatened and robbed unsuspecting victims.

Robbery on North Circle Drive

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, the first incident occurred in the 1100 block of North Circle Drive, near Knob Hill. The suspect approached a car and threatened a victim before stealing money from them. This was just the beginning of a crime spree that would escalate in violence.

Violent Encounter on North Murray Boulevard

After the initial robbery, the suspect moved to North Murray Boulevard just south of Platte Avenue. Here, he targeted another car and its occupants, informing them of his intention to rob them. The situation quickly turned violent as the suspect attempted to pull the front passenger from the car. A struggle ensued, but the victim managed to escape back into the vehicle and drive away. However, not before the suspect caused damage to their car in the process.

Assault and Theft on Murray Boulevard

Undeterred by his failed attempt, the suspect then targeted another male victim on Murray Boulevard just north of Platte. Demanding money from the victim, he resorted to assault when his demands were not met. The victim was forced into a convenience store by the suspect, who proceeded to steal items from the victim’s car before fleeing the scene.

Arrest of Xavier Slaughter

Thanks to the swift response of K9 Riggs and Officer Brock Lofgren, the suspect was located in the area of Murray Boulevard and East Bijou Street. Xavier Slaughter surrendered to the K9 officer and was subsequently placed under arrest for his string of violent robberies. The CSPD is commended for their quick action in apprehending the dangerous individual.
