The Ogun State Police Command has launched a search operation to find the body of a 32-year-old man who reportedly drowned in the Ogun River. The victim, Francis Danjuma, a resident of Isheri Olofin community, went missing on June 12, 2024, after he left his house to bathe in the river.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Danjuma Shaibu, the father of the missing man, reported the incident to the police. Despite extensive efforts by family members and local divers, Danjuma’s body has not yet been recovered.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated that the Ojodu-Abiodun division of the state command has initiated an investigation into the matter. The police are working alongside local divers and the Olofin Council in the search for the victim’s body.

Odutola said, “Detectives from the Ojodu-Abiodun division visited the scene and are collaborating with local divers and the Olofin Council in the search operation. Our efforts to locate the body are ongoing, and we are determined to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”

The police are committed to finding answers and bringing closure to the family of Francis Danjuma. The community is also rallying together to support the search efforts and provide assistance in any way possible.
