William Deaton : “Bowling Green Man Charged in 2022 Rape Case”

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man from Bowling Green has been arrested on multiple charges related to engaging in sexual activity with a minor.

William Deaton, 21, of Bowling Green, was taken into custody by the Bowling Green Police Department on Friday, June 14. He faces charges of second-degree rape, unlawful transaction with a minor, first offense – illegal sex act under 16 years of age, and second-degree sodomy.

Upon responding to Deaton’s residence for questioning, the police report states that he admitted to having sexual intercourse twice with a 13-year-old victim.

The incident in question dates back to November 23, 2022, when a rape was reported to the authorities. The victim identified Deaton as the suspect who had engaged in sexual contact with her. Following the initial police response, Deaton visited the Bowling Green Police Department to claim that he was being falsely accused of rape.

Subsequent forensic interviews conducted on January 13, 2023, and March 2024 revealed further details implicating Deaton in the sexual misconduct. Additionally, results from a sexual assault kit from 2022 were received by the police on April 3, 2024.

At the time of the incidents, Deaton was 20 years old. He was apprehended and transported to the Warren County Detention Center.
