DES MOINES, Iowa — The body that was discovered at Easter Lake on Thursday has been confirmed to be that of a 29-year-old man named Abwe Etabo.
The Des Moines Police Department received a report of a body in the water near the beach at Easter Lake around 2:08 p.m. on Thursday. With the assistance of the Des Moines Fire Department, the body was successfully recovered.
Following further investigation, the police department confirmed the identity of the deceased as Abwe Etabo on Friday.
Authorities stated that there were no apparent signs of foul play or criminal activity that may have led to Etabo’s passing. The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Etabo’s death is still ongoing.
