One woman tragically lost her life and an infant was critically injured in a devastating car accident on US Highway 69 near Denison Street on Wednesday night. The driver, Angela Woodson, was pronounced dead at the scene, while her three-month-old grandson, Roman, is currently fighting for his life in a Dallas hospital.

The tight-knit Bells community has come together in a show of solidarity and support for the grieving Woodson family during this difficult time. Angela Woodson was not just a wife, mother, and grandmother, but also a beloved member of the community.

A Community in Mourning

Shawndra McReynolds, a close friend of Angela Woodson, spoke fondly of her, saying, “She took care of her grandbaby, she loved that baby so much.” Ashley Reiter, another member of the community, added, “She does a lot for the community, for her family. She was their glue and it’s going to be felt tremendously her loss.”

Angela Woodson and her husband, Ashley Woodson, are the owners of Finish Line Pizza, a cherished establishment in Bells. McReynolds, who manages the restaurant, shared, “She was a lot more our glue around here than people want to admit. She was here every night, usually making sure that everything was taken care of, she helped Ashley do everything.”

Rallying Support

Ashley Woodson expressed his deep sorrow on Facebook, stating, “I lost my best friend, and I will miss my wife so much.” To support the Woodson family during this trying time, a fundraiser is being held at Finish Line Pizza tonight. The event, starting at 7 p.m. in the Finish Line Parking lot, is donation-based, with all proceeds going towards the Woodson family and baby Roman.

Ashley Woodson extended his gratitude to the community for their unwavering support and prayers during this heartbreaking period. In addition to the fundraiser, a GoFundMe page and Meal Train have been set up to provide further assistance to the Woodson family.
