Accident – Death – Obituary News : Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – A traffic collision at a southern Rochester interchange resulted in one driver being hospitalized on Thursday afternoon. The incident, involving two vehicles, occurred at the Hwy. 63 and 40th St. interchange, prompting a response from the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the state crash report, a car traveling north on Hwy. 63 was struck by an SUV merging onto the highway. The SUV driver, identified as 70-year-old Lucia Gebreselasi Gebreab of Rochester, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, 25-year-old December Dawn Sherman of Faribault, was accompanied by four children – a baby boy, baby girl, 1-year-old girl, and six-year-old girl from Faribault. Fortunately, all occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed. It was noted in the report that everyone involved in the crash was wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a contributing factor.
